A complete indoor sports centre on Ratchaphruek Road, Pathum Thani, bringing 12 regulation badminton courts and a 25 m swimming pool together under one roof, designed and built end to end by ARKIRA
MEOW MINTON is a two-storey indoor sports building on Ratchaphruek Road in Pathum Thani, bringing 12 regulation badminton courts and a 25 m swimming pool together in a single building. ARKIRA designed and built the whole of it, from structure and architecture through to the building services
At the heart of the building is a long-span steel roof truss covering every court with no intermediate columns, giving a clear playing space with a high ceiling and good ventilation, together with a glazed reception hall that has become the face of the building from the road
Besides the badminton hall, the building contains a regulation 25 m swimming pool under the same roof, built with specialist concrete floor and wall construction for pools designed specifically to resist water pressure and prevent leakage
The pool has a separate roof system of its own to manage humidity and ventilation without affecting the badminton hall, together with the full pool plant — filtration and circulation, the overflow system and sanitary works, designed and built by ARKIRA's own engineers

The building uses a hybrid structure — reinforced concrete for the two-storey primary frame combined with a wide-span steel roof truss spanning the courts and the pool without a central column, giving a clear playing space and the ceiling height competition requires
The floors use a post-tension slab system — longer spans and higher load capacity with fewer columns and beams, for a more open and more adaptable interior
ARKIRA's architects and engineers designed and drew every system — a complete construction set ready for permit submission and for building, covering all four disciplines
